Summer of Treasures
Last summer The Rowdy Ridge Gang Camp celebrated the Summer of Miracles. There are miracles all around us each and every day. The theme was intentionally designed to serve as an active reminder to both our staff and campers of the amazing experiences and opportunities that are right in front of us when we pay attention. The Rowdy Ridge Gang Camp has been described by many as a place where miracles happen to children and families. We figured since we’ve been hearing that for such a long time it was about time we honored that phenomenon by naming a summer theme after this powerful and real concept. Who knows, maybe we’ll invite even more miracles and possibilities than before. Imagine that?
This summer we will celebrate the Summer of Treasures. At Rowdy Ridge we feel that life is filled with all kinds of treasures; some tangible and others not. The true treasures we want to share with our campers and encourage them to seek and value are treasures such as family, friends, love, laughter, joy, health and peace. These are just a few of the many enduring treasures that make life worth living and meaningful. We hope to share our love to these treasures with our campers this and every summer at The Rowdy Ridge. So prepare for a summer of adventure as we seek to find the treasures all around us. So let the treasure hunting begin!

SummerFest 2008
Even though we’re about to bid a fond farewell to the Summer of 2007, it’s never too early to begin thinking and planning for next summer. Summer 2008 will be here before you know it. Like this past summer, the next holds the promise of more wonderful opportunities for friends and families to feel renewed and spend some good times with one another. As hard as it is to imagine that soon we’ll be putting a log or two in our fireplaces and drinking hot cocoa on chilly winter nights, it’s good to remind ourselves that summer will once again return. We hope your next summer is filled with vacations, picnics, road trips, water sports, weddings, fireworks, cookouts, block parties and camping. We also hope that you will save the date of Sunday, August 17, 2008 to join us for Camp Summer Fest 2008 at The Depot in Torrance.
Camp Summer Fest 2008 will celebrate the success of The Rowdy Ridge Gang Camp; our 15th consecutive season of camp, as a matter of fact. Summer Fest is a great big party in the style and tradition of the good old fashioned summer block party. For an afternoon the street in front of The Depot Restaurant is closed off, tented and converted into a big, beautiful camp party in Old Downtown Torrance.
We hope you join us for an afternoon of fun and friendship. The funds raised at Summer Fest will help to ensure that our camp remains a possibility and reality for as many families and children as possible.
